Program Examples
Simple Program
Objective: Sponsor and Promote Annual One-day Fund Raising Drive and Skin Cancer Awareness Program to raise funds for Cancer Society and to build the company’s community and customer awareness through this high visibility event.
Program Type: A Community Relations event that uses area service organization volunteers to raise public awareness and to solicit funds in public areas throughout the city through the sales of themed specialty products and gift cards. A self-funded effort, proceeds from sales serve to both underwrite production expenses and contribute to the cause.
Theme: Skin Cancer, in many cases is preventable or treatable if you take the known precautions to avoid skin cancer, including protection from the sun’s ultraviolet rays and consulting with your doctor upon seeing changes in moles and blemishes.
Slogan/Memory Hook: Don’t Get Burned – Relax in the Shade
Materials: Public service advertisements, press releases, media announcements, warning signs pamphlet, and hot-line referral sticker.
Branded Promotional Items: Volunteer vests, caps and collection containers, Sun Protection Items – Visor, Cap, Lotion, and Sunbrellas. plus, Gift Cards, and themed “Don’t Get Burned” Buttons and Magnets given to donors.
Extended Program
Objective: Build community awareness of company and their services through the sponsorship of an annual music event that features six weekly evening concerts held outside in early summer. Enlist event volunteers from the community to help coordinate and manage the event. Motivate volunteers to take advantage of company service and attract attendees to the company’s on-site booth. A secondary employee relations benefit is achieved at the event through a patron seating section reserved for company employees.
Program Type: Sponsorship Program that builds community identification and awareness through branded give-a-way items distributed to attendees and custom designed event tee-shirts whose production is underwritten by the company, but which are offered for sale to attendees as a memento of the event. Other event and company branded outdoor promotional items are offered for sale to attendees at the on-site company sponsorship booth. Proceeds from tee-shirt sales are contributed to support a local community arts scholarship fund, while revenue from the other promotional merchandise helps to underwrite event advertising and promotion. Employees that attend the event receive event tee-shirts.
Theme: Urban Center Park’s – Cool Down Nights – Relax, cool-off, listen to some of the areas best performers while you join friends and music lovers for picnics and wine on the lawn in Urban Center Park.
Slogan/Memory Hook: Cool Down Tonight
Materials: Event poster/program, newspaper advertising, pre and post-event receptions with the artists, press release, poster and event theme mailings to media, and branded services brochure.
